Creating a Xumm account

Setting up a Xumm account to use with Donation Stream

Donation Stream uses Xumm to invoice for streaming donations to charitable organisations in the real world.

This article will guide you through the process of:

  1. Downloading Xumm
  2. Creating a new wallet
  3. Sending XRP to the new wallet

This is assuming you don't already have an existing XRP wallet to import into Xumm.

Downloading onto mobile

XUMM is a non custodial client (wallet) for the XRP Ledger, with superpowers. XUMM allows you to interact with the XRP Ledger and 3rd party tools while keeping your keys super safe. XUMM supports signing all XRP ledger transactions, like payments & escrows.

You can download here:

Apple Store

Creating a new wallet

Once you`ve downloaded Xumm you will need to go about creating a new wallet within the app. This will allow you to send and receive payments to other XRP ledger wallets, especially ones which are part of Donation Stream.

The process is best described here by Kryptowissen:

Sending XRP to your new wallet

The final stage is sending xrp to your new wallet. Please note that there is a 20 XRP reserve on every XRP ledger wallet. So for example if you want to be able to spend 1 XRP you will need to send 21 XRP to your new Xumm wallet.

If you already have an account at an exchange setup then great. If not you will need to create one at exchanges like:

Once you have created an account and gone through user verification you will then be able to purchase XRP. The lifeblood of the XRP ledger/Xumm and the first payment method accepted on Donation Stream.

There will be guides on those exchange platforms to help with this purchasing step.

When it comes to sending your XRP to your new wallet you will need to get the public XRP address from the Xumm app. There is no destination tag required when you are sending to your own personal wallet, but if you wanted to send the money back to the exchange then don't forget to include the destination tag!

That's it

You have now downloaded Xumm, created a wallet within their mobile app and added XRP to your wallet to begin streaming payments.

Congratulations and we look forward to providing more guides to Donation Stream and the technology that underpins the platform.
